The SEND Foundation Course (3 part course)

What is the event?

Has your child been recently identified as having additional needs? Do you find the systems and support for special educational needs confusing? Would you benefit from a broad overview of how it all works?

This three-part course has been designed to provide an introduction on all the key issues parents/carers will encounter as your children grow and develop. It aims to empower parents of children undergoing or who have recently undergone diagnosis but is helpful to any parents who feel they need an overview of the following subjects and issues:

  • Coming to terms with and understanding your child’s diagnosis/possible diagnosis
  • Where to go for information and advice
  • Handling stress and building resilience
  • Gaining support from other parent-carer
  • Accessing benefits and financial support
  • Getting support for your child at school
  • Accessing support through health & social care
  • Accessing other key services and opportunities in West Sussex.

Dates: * Session 1: Wednesday 15th November - 7.30pm to 9.30pm * Session 2: Wednesday 22nd November - 7.30pm to 9.30pm * Session 3: Wednesday 29th November - 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Booking one ticket for 15th November books you a place for all 3 dates of the course - 15th, 22nd and 29th November.

Please note this workshop is funded by Reaching Families for parents and carers of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities in West Sussex only. It is not suitable for professionals.

After booking - Once you have booked a place you will receive an email confirmation from Eventbrite. Prior to the workshop you will receive a Zoom link to access the online sessions. You will need to download Zoom in advance but you don’t need to set up an account if you don’t wish to. Zoom can be used on PC’s/Laptops and mobile devices such as iPad, phones and tablets. If you have any questions, please get in touch and we will happily talk you through setting this up if required.

If workshop is full - places can become available and we are very proactive at ensuring all places are taken on our workshops. In order to join the waitlist, please open Eventbrite via an internet browser, rather than using the Eventbrite app, in order to book yourself onto the waitlist.
