What is the event?

Expert Parent Programme workshop for Parent Carers of children with Complex Health needs.

This workshop is for parents and carers whose children have medically Complex Health needs (0-25), who more than likely receive health and care from many different services and places.

Topics covered include: ~An understanding of person-centred approaches ~Being clear on your child’s rights in the NHS and talking through the NHS Health system in the context of working better with professionals around your child helping them reach their best outcomes.
~Mental capacity and consent, best interest decision making and planning for the future becomes more critical on moving to adult services ~Looking after yourself as a parent carer, ensuring you know about all the support there to help you.
This learning was developed with the national charity, Together for Short Lives and is peer-led by a parent with lived experience. The workshop will be accessed on-line (using Zoom), through two 2.5-hour sessions, one week apart. Learning is fun, interactive, and safe and its vital that you are able to come to both sessions.
