Event

What is the event?

This workshop is for parent carers whose child or young person, (0-25), has medically complex health needs, who more than likely are receiving healthcare from many different services and places.

Topics covered will include:

~ An understanding of person-centred approaches, being clear on your child’s/young person's rights in the NHS, talking through the NHS Health system in the context of working better with professionals around your child/young person helping them to reach their best outcomes.

~ Mental capacity, decision making and planning for the future becomes more critical when moving to adult services.

~ Looking after yourself as a carer, ensuring you know about all of the support available to help you.

This learning was developed with, 'Together for Short Lives' and is peer-led by a parent carer with lived experience. The workshop will be accessed on-line via Zoom, through two 3-hour sessions, one week apart.

💥The Learning is fun, interactive, and safe, it is vital that you are able to attend both sessions.
