Making Sense of Adult Life - Supporting Adolescents (11+)

Event

What is the event?

This workshop is aimed at parent/carers of young people aged 11+.

Adolescence is a time many parents approach with trepidation. Having heard all the horror stories, myths and rumours this is perhaps understandable. But what is really going on? Why are the teenage years so different from childhood and adulthood? Do young people with special educational needs and or disabilities have a more difficult time than their peers?

Supporting adolescents is the first part of a new series of workshops on Making Sense of Adult Life. In this workshop we will look at various aspects of adolescence in young - people with SEND, what should we expect and how can we help them through this period of transition to adulthood. Covering topics including puberty, relationships, managing emotions and social skills to help prepare you and your child for a positive future.
