KSS AHSN Learning Disability Engagement event

Event

What is the event?

Join us at the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Academic Health Science Network’s (KSS AHSN) Learning Disability Engagement Event.

December 2019 marks the acceleration of our work in engaging our local NHS, health and social care partners to understand the needs of those living with learning disabilities, relatives and carers. We want to understand the challenges that could be improved by innovative technology and approaches and communicate these needs to innovators in a way that encourages the most effective response.

We want people with learning disabilities, families, carers, health and social care professionals, the voluntary sector and academia to help us describe the range of needs or challenges for people with learning disabilities in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

This interactive sharing and learning event has an overarching theme about sustaining change and improvement. It offers us all an opportunity to hear from everyone about the challenges they face in receiving or delivering learning disability services.

Together, we want to stimulate the development and testing of person-centred solutions for improving outcomes and experience of those living with or connected to those learning disabilities.

The event is free to attend but a place must be booked if you do wish to attend.

About KSS AHSN

KSS AHSN is one of the 15 AHSNs across England, established by NHS England in 2013 to improve health and generate economic growth by spreading innovation at pace and scale.

We connect citizens, NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry to facilitate change across the whole health and social care economies. We have a clear focus on transforming lives through innovation.

KSS AHSN covers the whole of Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Our impact comes from our ability to bring people, resources and organisations together to collaboratively deliver benefits that are not achievable by one single organisation or group.
